Melody is the foundation to all Starlite Shelties produced after 1984. She was a special sheltie who seemed to enjoy the show ring always standing like a statue.
Melody moved effortlessly in the ring. Her head was very detailed and held it’s smoothness throughout her long life. We felt she got better with age.
Melody has passed her special quality on to the shelties we have had through the years and a couple who have stayed in the ring to ripe old ages are:
Ch. Starlites Sportin Ruler - Ryan - at 12 won a Group 4 under Charlotte McGowan (1996)
GCh. Starlites Cast in Red Rudy is our current Veteran- at 13 in 2011 Rudy is the Oldest Dog to earn a Grand Championship- doing it with 2 BOB at all breed shows (see page Oldest Grand Champion)
